Pyjama Day!

What a Fun day it is to be able to show up in your Pjs! The kids always have so much fun on PJ day.

This year we decided to help Harcourts Timaru reach their goal of 250 Pairs of Winter Pjs for Tamariki in our community. What an amazing cause. We managed to get roughly 30 pairs for them! What an awesome achievement.

Our friends at Harcourts raised over 250 pairs! Ka Pai Timaru!

Creative Corner Library

You may have noticed this cool funky bookshelf in reception. Our amazing Chrissie has set up a Creative Corner Library for our tamariki. Tamariki can take a book home to read and return it for another! What an awesome idea Chrissie!

Matariki Evening

We would like to say a huge Thank You to everyone who attended our Matariki Evening. The Tamariki and Kaiako all had such an amazing time. We look forward to doing more evenings like this.

Free oral health care for young people in nz

In New Zealand, free dental care is available for children aged 0-18. Here’s how it can be accessed:

Tamariki 0-4 years

At birth children are usually enrolled with Community Dental Service via the new-born enrolment process. Children are first seen by community dental services by 2 years of age, but parents can get in contact before this if there are any concerns. Pre-school children have their teeth checked and treated in a community dental clinic. Children should have their teeth checked each year after their first visit. To enrol or book an appointment for a pre-schooler call 0800 846 983 or email commdental@cdhb.health.nz.

Meet our Board of Trustees over the next few newsletters!

Justin MacKay

Hi, I'm Justin, and I'm Piper's dad. I work as Financial Adviser at Mainland Insurance, Investments, and Mortgages. I’m an avid motorcyclist and hockey player. Although I'm originally from the bustling city of Waimate, I have lived in Timaru since I was six years old. As a member of the board, I am dedicated to preserving and improving the unique essence of Creative Corner for the Tamariki, Kaiako & Whanau that form our vibrant community.

Hi im Jess - Mum to Jacob (Aka Jake/Jakey) who is in the Pukeko's, and Toby (7yrs) who would still very much prefer to attend C.C.

I'm a paediatric Occupational Therapist, working part-time in the child development service at Timaru hospital. My passion is teaching highland and national dancing and I have a small dance school (8 lovely girls).

I’m also driven to advocate for neurodiversity in all aspects of life, and I’m in the planning phase of developing a neurodiverse dance/movement/music school holiday activity programme/sessions. I enjoy camping, baking, music and family time.
